National Space Day Celebration at NATMO on 16th August 2024
India had successfully landed its Chandrayaan-3 Vikram lander on the lunar South Polar Region on August 23, 2023. To commemorate this feat, every year August 23rd has been declared as ‘National Space Day’ by the Government of India.
To commemorate the success of Chandrayaan -3 Mission and on the event of declaration of 23rd August 2024 as National Space Day, NATMO is celebrating the Maiden National Space Day 2024 on the theme “Touching Lives while Touching the Moon: India’s Space Saga” through a series of programmes from 2nd to 23rd August, 2024.
Today, on 16th August, NATMO observed and celebrated National Space Day through a series of programmes, lecture and talk.
The Welcome Speech was given by Dr Binod Kumar Singh, Director NATMO.
Prof. Soumen Mondal, Scientist, S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences (SNBNCBS) discussed in detail on the topic ‘Exploration of Astrophysics using Space Technology’.
Today’s Invited Lecture was presented by Dr Debiprosad Duari, Former Director, Research and Academics, M.P. Birla Institute of Fundamental Research on the topic ‘India’s Space Odyssey’.
All staffs and officers of NATMO joined to observe and celebrate the Chandrayaan -3 Mission of India.
